So... how's the water over there?

What a great and pleasant surprise to be back in town in the middle of the usual beyond hot summer and find out there is a surf festival going on.
Being used to find everything dead from mid July till September, that was a real gift for the gig maniacs of Yeah Right Radio.

Besides the good times, the great tunes and the cold beers..... one more thing was absolutely clear that night... the surf rock scene in Greece is not only alive and kicking but also hides some real treasures for the world to discover!

Watch the videos..... blame the batteries for making so few, hear the tunes and support the bands.

Featured series 2012 #7 The Basements

A series in which we spotlight some selected new and upcoming releases that are featured more prominently during the NOW Sound on Yeah Right Radio.

The Basements - I'm Dead The Greek garage scene seems to be blooming like never before, isolated from what's going on in the garage scene in main Europe, they got their own style going.

Traditionally moody but with a kick in your face attitude, the state of things as they happen prove to be a perfect breeding ground for garage bands.

With their debut album I'm Dead on Lost in Tyme Records, The Basements have a notably strong follow-up of their 2010 7" EP 'Heart of Stone'. This is the sound if Wild Evel would have been Greek!

The Rockin' Bones awake the beast within...

The Rockin' BonesThe Rockin' Bones are already in action since 1992, almost 20 years and counting of wild high octane rock 'n' roll ....one more Greek band hidden in the vaults of the south east side of Europe!!

Their last 7" release on Pin Up Mania Productions, which is also the 001 release of this newly born label, proves that rock 'n' rollers have something in common with wine.... they develop with time.

Two dynamite songs... Blood Is The Cost (with the contribution of Eve Deville from Meanie Geanies on organ) and the stand-out masterpiece Stewed, Doomed & Tattooed on the b-side.

.... isn't this the way we like our rock 'n' roll?
Stewed, doomed & tattooed
.... and police-sirens to end it all!

... it's bloody ... and it's gonna get messy ... this is Greece right now!
