We met the Cavestompers! their first night in Germany, just before they start their two week tour in Germany and Netherlands. We locked them in the cellar of Wowsville and interrogated them the traditional KGB way.

... The wild stuff starts where the europeans don't go, like Siberia. It's too dangerous to go there for many reasons, I still have a knife-mark in my face from Noyabr'sk in the centre of Siberia ...
... of course convincing a european band to come to a place like this, it's like going to the gulag. There is no guarantee but the vibe is great there and people get crazy ...
... For a lot of people in Russia garage is still like a great discovery. It is like listening to the soundtrack from, for instance, "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels". They get impressed and want to find out more ... Garage is misunderstood in Moscow, as it is in most of the world. People think of White Stripes but if you put an old record from 1966 they go 'wow! this is better' ...
... In this tour we want to show our energy, what we really can do on stage. During the year you are going to rehearsals or doing recordings and it's a bit boring because you miss the feedback from the crowd... and now the time has come! We really want to do these shows, day by day and we are also gonna play songs that are not yet recorded to prepare them for the studio so they will have this raw and wild sound! ...
... We have a new 10 inch coming up on Get Hip Records that should be released any minute now ...
But we have a new 7 inch released on Chickpea Records, a small New York label with us on this tour ... We haven't presented it in Moscow yet so in this tour it is its premiere ...
... We are here on another adventure ... it's all misty but that's cool! ... it's like Russian karaoke, if you give us enough vodka we play anything! ...
